Journey through Korea, 003

Late afternoon tea ceremony: a tea master prepares tea across from us, as she tells a story about the tea leaves' origin, aromas, taste, mouthfeel and how best to enjoy the tea.

Soothing music plays in the background, and the sound of boiling water from the kettle fills the space. Translucent veils hang from the ceiling and make the space feel airy and dreamy. It's a sensory experience.

As the tea master decants the brewed tea from gai-wan (개완; literal meaning 'lid and bowl') into the serving pitcher, we ready oursevels to pour the tea into the tea cup.
