This Yokote teapot was designed by Osamu Saruyama and made by Takashi Touen in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, which is a major production area for teapots. The round shape allows the tea leaves to spread freely for brewing. It comes with an integrated fine-mesh ceramic filter. Azmaya hallmark is engraved on the bottom.

History: 

Handmade in the city of Tokonome, Aichi prefecture, this teapot is fired in one of the six ancient kilns of Japan using traditional Japanese pottery methods. Since 1997, Azumaya has designed and collaborated with craftsmen to preserve and further ancient Japanese craft method in modern times.
