Japanese Shiratake White Bamboo Chashaku/Matcha Tea Scoop by Yasaburo Tanimura

Meet our Japanese Shiratake White Bamboo Chashaku/Matcha Tea Scoop, handcrafted by Yasaburo Tanimura (Suikaen), a traditional craftsman designated by the Minister of International Trade and Industry, in Takayama, Nara, Japan.

Suikaen is headed by Yasaburo Tanimura (谷村弥三郎), a 25th generation chasen master who has continued on his family's 500-year-old tradition and as one of the only 18 remaining chasen masters. These chashaku are made from locally grown, harvested bamboo in Takayama village (高山) in northwest Nara prefecture.

This is a classic Nakabushi 中節 (middle nod) chashaku.

With all handmade pieces crafted from natural bamboo, colors and patterns may slighty differ from the product images.
