Meet our Japanese Azmaya Linen Azabu 14-Ban Tea Towel, woven in Japan of a high-density single flax yarn with 14 thread-count that can withstand a long-term use. It is woven using an old shuttle loom that can only weave about 10-15 meters per day by a long-established hemp and linen manufacturer, Omi Jofu Textiles, founded in 1897.
The thickness of linen thread used to make the cloth is expressed in count/ban; the lower the number, the thicker the thread. For thick cloths, 8 or 14 thread-count is used, whereas for smooth and thin cloths, the thread count of 60, 80, 125 or higher is used.
Please be sure to wash it in hot water before using it. The linen cloth will become softer and stronger with each wash -- after about 5 or 6 washes, the initial stiffness becomes soft and fluffy at which point you would be able to fully appreciate the charm of the unique texture of linen.
Due to the characteristics of the natural materials used, linen may shed its fibers at the beginning of use and the thread may have knots or slight uneveness in color.
Size: approx. W 28" (70cm) x L 20" (50cm)
Material : Flax Linen
Made in Japan
