Meet our Japanese Chojugiga Incense Sticks (box of 90 sticks) handcrafted in Karasuma-dori, Kyoto, Japan. Inspired by nature, our Choju Giga incense features motifs from a series of illustrated scrolls from Kyoto, Japan called Chōjū-Jinbutsu-Giga, dating back between the 12th and 13th century. The scrolls feature anthropomorphic animals such as rabbits, monkeys and frogs, acting out everyday life in the late Heian and early Kamakura periods. With scents of Amber, Myrrh and Japanese Pear, the incense sticks emit a timeless scent, and the illustration on the box adds a witty charm to any space.
