Meet our Japanese Collotype Print Postcard featuring a painting by Kitaoki Rosanjin.
Each postcard is hand-printed on Japanese paper. While a common printing method prints colors and shading with a density of small dots, collotype printing expresses them with continuous gradation, which makes it possible to express them with fine details that are closer to real-life, just like photographs.
Born in Tokyo in 1883, Kitaoji Rosanjin was a genius artist who pursued beauty through food, working in ceramics, calligraphy, and painting. His talent as an advisor and head chef at Hoshioka Saryo, a restaurant run by Nakamura Chikushiro, the fourth generation of Nakamura Chikushiro, was fully demonstrated and took the world by storm.
Dimensions: approx. W 4.1" (10.5cm) x L 5.9" (15cm)
Made in Japan.
