*IMPORTANT*
Once you start using the donabe, the bottom surface will start changing its color and develop lightly scorched black spots. It is to be considered as part of developing its character (which we welcome). Please be assured the donabe is safe to use, and it is a sign you are actually using it rather than having it on display. If, however, the bottom surface gets too dark too quickly, it is a sign that you are using too much heat so please reduce the stove heat.
Made in Japan.
