Meet our Japanese Onta-Yaki Tobikana Ceramic Bowl, handcrafted and fired in the Sakamoto Kogama kiln, located in the mountains of Hita City, Oita Prefecture, Japan. Onta-yaki is made by observing the tradition of being handed down from generation to generation. Based on traditional techniques such as tobikana (chattering) used on this bowl or hakeme (brush marks), the light and easy-to-use vessels are truly the embodiment of the Japanese folk art. All Onta-Yaki pottery is fired in a climbing kiln.
