Meet our Japanese Shigaraki Ceramic Tea Bowl and Saucer (Set), handcrafted in Shiga Prefecture in Japan. Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, Shigaraki is one of Japan's six old kilns, with a history that goes back 1260 years. In 1976, Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan. The cup is perfect for serving tea, coffee or matcha, and the saucer can be used as a mini plate for wagashi (和菓子: traditional Japanese confections). On the bottom of the cup and saucer is potter's mark. The bowl and the saucer set comes beautifully packaged in a paper box, thus perfect for gifting.
