Meet our Japanese Shigaraki Ceramic Ibushi (いぶし) Matcha Bowl, handcrafted in Shiga Prefecture in Japan. Located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, Shigaraki is one of Japan's six old kilns, with a history that goes back 1260 years. In 1976, Shigaraki-yaki (Shigaraki ware) was designated as a traditional craft in Japan. Ibushi (いぶし) means oxidation of metal and as such, the surface of matcha bowl has a unique metallic look. The bowl comes beautifully packaged in a branded paper box, thus perfect for gifting.
