Japanese Shigaraki Ceramic Kensui Water Bowl

Meet our Japanese Shigaraki Ceramic Kensui Water Bowl handcrafted in Japan. These bowls are called "kensui(建水)" or "koboshi (零し)" in Japanese, meaning a waste-water container into which water is poured after a tea bowl has been rinsed during a tea ceremony. A clean kensui is used for each tea ceremony, as disposing of the waste water in front of the guests is considered discourteous.
