Tokoname ware has a history of 1000 years and is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan.

Each kyusu is handmade by craftsmen, from the molding of the body, lid, spout, tea strainer, and handle to the final firing process. The tea strainer is made of fine mesh ceramic that has no metallic smell and brings out the aroma and flavor of the tea to the fullest. The more you use the teapot, the deeper its color and luster will get over time, making it even more charming. Below the handle is engraved potter's mark.

Please note, tokoname soil contains iron, thus the the color of the body is not pure white.
